This is an entry-level role designed for individuals with basic skills and limited or no prior manufacturing experience. Employees in this grade are responsible for supporting routine production tasks under close supervision. The position serves as a foundational role within the Engineered Products department, offering opportunities for skill development and advancement through hands-on training.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in basic production tasks such as packaging (bulk, box, skid, Do-Boy), operating as a saw helper, and using drill press and Wysong punch press under supervision.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Complete daily preventative maintenance (PM) checklists as instructed.
- Report any operational or safety issues promptly to a lead person, supervisor, or manager.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in manufacturing.
- Willingness and ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks.
- Strong attention to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand shop papers, tape measurements, calipers, and Kentucky Gage (digital measuring tool).
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new equipment and processes.
- Basic communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Reliability and good attendance record.
