We are seeking an
Engineering Technician to support our engineering team by producing accurate structural and fabrication drawings for new and reconstruction cooling tower projects. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with AutoCAD experience and an interest in structural design, manufacturing, and construction.
The Engineering Technician will create 2D AutoCAD drawings, prepare bills of materials (BOMs), and assist engineering personnel with product development, field support, and cooling tower inspections. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 2D AutoCAD installation and fabrication drawings for cooling tower components.
- Develop complete and accurate bills of materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing and installation.
- Assist engineers with structural detailing and technical documentation.
- Support field problem resolution by providing engineering documentation and technical assistance.
- Participate in the design and development of new cooling tower components.
- Assist with cooling tower inspections as needed.
- Review drawings for accuracy and completeness before release.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field personnel to ensure project success.
- Maintain engineering documentation and drawing revisions in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications Required
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 0-3 years of experience in drafting, detailing, structural design, or mechanical design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Preferred
- Experience with structural, mechanical, or materials detailing.
- Knowledge of cooling tower systems or industrial equipment.
- Experience working with construction materials including:
- Steel
- Concrete
- Fiberglass
- Lumber
- Practical construction, fabrication, or assembly experience.
- Experience creating bills of materials (BOMs).
