Position Overview
As a Shipping Assistant, you will support outbound shipping operations by preparing orders, coordinating shipment documentation, and ensuring products leave the warehouse accurately and on schedule. You'll work closely with warehouse staff and shipping personnel to maintain smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders and outbound shipments for dispatch.
- Verify shipment contents against packing lists and shipping documents.
- Print and apply shipping labels and package identification.
- Organize completed shipments in designated staging areas.
- Assist with scheduling outgoing deliveries and carrier pickups.
- Update shipping records using warehouse management software.
- Communicate shipment status with internal departments when needed.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy by reporting discrepancies.
- Keep packing stations and shipping areas clean and organized.
- Follow warehouse safety procedures and company operational standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer and data-entry abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and move packages safely when required.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
