Job Description Summary
Reams Asset Management ("Reams"), an affiliate of Raymond James Investment Management, is a fixed income investment management firm located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. We currently have an opportunity in our Investment Operations Department for an Analyst who will be responsible for processing account transactions and reconciliations, generating reports, and acting as liaison for internal and external contacts. This position will also support day-to-day resolution of complex problems and be involved in process improvement projects. Additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned commensurate with demonstrated competency of previous assignments.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Supports day-to-day resolution of complex investment accounting problems and transaction processing and is responsible for the client portfolio reconciliation processes.
- Processes and reviews account transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely settlement.
- Performs cash, position, and portfolio reconciliations and investigates discrepancies.
- Prepares and posts journal entries and adjustments as required.
- Researches and resolves transactions, reconciliation, and accounting-related exceptions.
- Collaborates with custodians, brokers, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends solutions to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Balances competing priorities and meets established deadlines.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skills or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.
Skills in:
- Portfolio accounting systems and databases.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Communicating effectively in both oral and written communications.

Education/Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree or two (2) years of relevant experience.

- Involvement in process improvement projects
Preferences
- Experience with fixed income securities
- Experience with custodian platforms
- Familiarity with derivative securities
