Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests promptly, providing menus and answering any initial questions.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant's point-of-sale system, such as OpenTable.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests effectively.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders and adherence to food safety standards.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, utilizing basic math skills for billing purposes.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including resetting tables for new guests.
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to ensure all guests receive prompt service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and order accuracy.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software like OpenTable is a plus.
