My Gym Vienna is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager. $22–25/hour, plus a $75 monthly stipend, monthly and year-end incentives, and paid time off starting in your second year. You need to live within about 30 minutes of Vienna.
This is a floor job with a clipboard, not a desk job.
Our Assistant Manager teaches classes, hosts birthday parties, opens and closes the gym, and keeps a team of part-time coaches on track. If what you want is an office, this will not suit you. If you like being the person who makes a fully booked Saturday run smoothly — and can still get down on the mat and sing with a room of two-year-olds — keep reading.
What you'll own
- Teach classes across every age group, from first-steps toddlers to Ninja Training and Gymnastics for 5–10 year olds
- Host birthday parties and make sure they run start to finish without the parents lifting a finger
- Open and close the gym; keep it clean, safe and ready
- Support a part-time team — scheduling, covering shifts, training coaches on the floor
- Handle parent questions, enrollment conversations and membership follow-up
- Work directly with the Director on enrollment, retention and daily operations
Who this is for
- You have led people before — a shift, a team, a classroom, a camp, a squad. Formal management experience is welcome but not required.
- Real energy with children, and no hesitation about being silly in front of a room full of parents
- Organized enough that nothing slips on a Saturday with three parties booked
- Reliable. You are the person others count on, not the person who needs covering.
- Experience in childcare, gymnastics, dance, cheer, camps, teaching or youth sports is a plus
- High school diploma required; college coursework welcome
Pay and benefits
- $22–25 per hour, starts at $22 with tips it typically increases
- $75 monthly stipend
- Monthly and year-end incentive plan
- 5 days of paid time off beginning in your second year
- Paid training
- Free My Gym classes for your own children
Hours
- Full-time, 30–40 hours a week
- Mondays 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM are required — team meeting and planning
- Typical weekday shifts: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Typical weekend shift: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM, with birthday parties running 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- We are flexible on schedule to accommodate other things in your life
Location, plainly
This role opens, closes and covers shifts across the whole week, so you need to live within a reasonable drive — roughly 30 minutes. Vienna, Oakton, Tysons, Falls Church, Dunn Loring, Merrifield, Fairfax, Reston, Herndon, McLean and Arlington all work. If you are coming from DC, Maryland or south of the Beltway, please don't apply - it has proven to be too far.
