Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a contract assignment in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will support physicians and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Medical Assistant certification from an approved school OR equivalent experience
- BLS Certification required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Key Responsibilities
- Take vital signs, medical history, medication history, and allergy information
- Perform EKGs, lab testing, PFTs, and audiometry as ordered
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Update insurance and patient demographic information
- Handle patient referrals and documentation accurately
- Answer phones and communicate professionally with patients and staff
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and infection control standards
- Assist physicians with patient care and discharge instructions
- Maintain supply inventory and perform daily equipment checks
