Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product information or demos
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including balancing registers at shift end
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure attractive presentation
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or orders
- Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and product replenishment tasks
- Supervise or mentor new team members in cashiering and customer service best practices when needed
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales processes
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities for diverse customer interactions
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail environments preferred
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus
- Ability to conduct product demos and upsell effectively to maximize sales opportunities
- Good phone etiquette for handling inquiries politely and professionally
- Capable of merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized store environment
