Jr. Counselors work in a support role for camp counselors. Junior counselors act as an “extra set of eyes, ears & hands” in classrooms and at the playground/gym while also being role models for our campers. Jr. Counselors must take this responsibility seriously by providing a positive and friendly interaction with campers while keeping them focused on the task at hand. The Jr. Counselor will float between classrooms as needed to assist counselors with particularly technical lessons where lots of assembly is required (ie robot/rocket assembly, helping during messy science experiments, assisting with dissections), or any lesson where a counselor needs an extra set of hands. During the pickup/dropoff/outdoor portions of the day, the Jr. Counselor will monitor & manage campers and ensure safety at all times.
These individuals must be energetic and have a “can-do!” attitudes at all times as they help campers have a great experience at camp. A ready smile and upbeat personality are must haves! These experiences and will prepare you well for life and the Counselor role!
