Position Title: Manager of Information Systems & Technology
Classification : Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Chief Finance & Administrative Officer and collaborates closely with the leadership team
Work Hours : This is a full-time leadership position requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of animal welfare operations and seasonal business demands, the Manager of Information Systems & Technology is expected to work additional hours as necessary to support these critical functions. Regular availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, as this position serves as an integral part of the business.
Position Summary
The Manager of Information Systems & Technology is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for the strategy, security, integration, and day-to-day management of Halifax Humane Society’s technology environment. This position leads the organization’s information systems, cybersecurity, communications infrastructure, software platforms, and technology vendors while advancing digital solutions that strengthen lifesaving operations, veterinary services, fundraising, finance, volunteer engagement, and community outreach. Working collaboratively across departments, the Manager ensures technology is reliable, secure, and aligned with the organization’s mission..

Key Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft 365, Windows devices, servers, networks, user accounts, and day-to-day technical support.
- Maintain secure, reliable technology infrastructure; develop IT policies, documentation, and coordinate technology vendors.
- Lead cybersecurity efforts including backups, access controls, MFA, endpoint protection, disaster recovery, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
- Manage the hosted VOIP phone system, call routing, user configuration, and communications reliability.
- Identify and implement systems integrations, automation, and process improvements across fundraising CRM, shelter software, veterinary systems, accounting, volunteer platforms, and thrift store POS.
- Lead technology projects including software implementations, upgrades, migrations, and support for organizational growth initiatives such as AccessVet.
- Develop and manage the technology budget, hardware/software inventory, lifecycle planning, contracts, and cost control.
- Train and support staff, develop user resources, and promote effective adoption of technology.
- Provide technology support for key organizational systems and major fundraising and community events.
Required Qualifications

- Five or more years of progressive IT, systems administration, or digital transformation experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, cloud platforms, and technical troubleshooting.
- Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- VOIP administration experience preferred.
- Experience with nonprofit CRM, veterinary, shelter management, and POS systems.
- Cybersecurity training/certifications, multi-site support, or nonprofit experience.

Physical & Employment Requirements
Ability to remain active throughout the workday, lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally, maintain a valid unrestricted Florida driver's license, pass background screening, pre-employment drug screening and provide professional references.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
