We are seeking a motivated audit specialist to assist with….
This opportunity is project based that is structured and deadline driven. The project duration will be based on the completion of the audit (approx. timeframe 4 to 6 weeks).
Responsibilities
- Organize resident files to ensure documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- Conduct detailed audits of Project-Based Section 8 (PBS8) resident files for compliance with HUD regulations and applicable LIHTC requirements.
- Identify missing, inaccurate, or non-compliant documentation.
- Communicate audit findings and required corrections with onsite property management staff.
- Contact residents to obtain missing information, signatures, or documentation needed to achieve compliance.
- Track audit progress and maintain accurate records of completed reviews.
- Ensure resident files are audit-ready and meet regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience completing, auditing, or reviewing HUD and LIHTC resident files for compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of HUD regulations, Project-Based Section 8 requirements, and LIHTC compliance.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify documentation deficiencies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with onsite staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software.
