Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled OR Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in perioperative nursing, demonstrating expertise in managing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Qualifications:
Current RN state licensure.
- Six months of recent perioperative experience (orthopedic, spine, gynecological or genitourinary specialty experience preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent post anesthesia, critical care or recovery care experience.
- Current BCLS and ACLS certification or obtained within six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with appropriate sterile techniques and ensure all necessary surgical equipment is ready for procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout the perioperative period, adjusting care as needed.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by providing instruments, suturing, and managing sterile fields with precision.
- Administer medications, including anesthesia support and pain management interventions, following strict protocols.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients undergoing complex surgeries such as cardiac catheterization or trauma medicine cases.
- Is directly accountable to the Clinical Director.
- Works in collaboration with medical staff, nursing colleagues, Surgical Technicians, and Aides.
- Directs non professional staff.
- Provide post-operative care instructions and ensure proper transfer or discharge planning for patients requiring long-term or outpatient care.
Skills
- Proven experience working in operating rooms within hospital or surgical center settings, including OR experience and Level I or Level II trauma center experience.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterile processing, and infection control protocols.
- Experience administering medications via IV infusion, injections, and managing ventilators or respiratory support devices.
- Skilled in suturing, catheterization procedures (including cardiac catheterization), tube feeding management, and ostomy care.
- Background in critical care environments such as ICU or neonatal resuscitation procedures enhances patient safety expertise.
- Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations, patient assessments, and diagnostic evaluations efficiently.

Pay: $50.00 - $90.00 per hour
