Cardiology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Locum Tenens
Northern New Jersey | Inpatient Cardiology | No Call | Block Schedule
We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity with an established hospital program in Northern New Jersey.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Cardiology APP looking for consistent block coverage without a full-time commitment.
Position Highlights:
- Start: October 2026
- Initial assignment through December 2026
- Inpatient Cardiology Consult Service
- Friday–Monday block schedule
- Approximately 2–3 blocks per month
- No call
- 12–24 patients per shift
- Epic EMR
- Additional December and holiday coverage available
- Competitive locum compensation

Schedule:
Typical coverage block:
Friday: 10 hours
Saturday: 11 hours
Sunday: 11 hours
Monday: 8 hours
Additional coverage is available throughout December, including Christmas and New Year's.
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care
- Evaluate and manage hospitalized cardiac patients
- Review EKGs, labs, imaging, medications, and diagnostic results
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Coordinate care with physicians and hospital teams
- Complete documentation in Epic
- Independently manage an inpatient cardiology census
Qualifications:
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Recent inpatient Cardiology experience required
- Comfortable working independently
- New Jersey license or ability to obtain
- Board certification as applicable
- Prior locum/travel experience preferred
- Epic experience preferred
