What to Expect
Tesla’s Cell Engineering team is looking for an Engineering Technician to support cell prototype builds, quality assurance, and cell component testing. Additionally, support equipment installation and SOP development, as well as participate in cell assembly troubleshooting and failure root cause analysis. What You'll Do-
Execute on cell assembly roles and ability to follow and generate work flow instructions (i.e. SOPs)

Utilize production equipment and processes to maintain high-quality standards

Assist with equipment, fixture, and tooling modifications and maintenance

Support timely failure analysis and root cause identification to resolve assembly issues

Uphold and improve quality assurance, such as incoming inspection of parts or outgoing inspection of cells
- Track inventory, such as cell components, consumables, and lab supplies

Uphold safety compliance by following safety protocols such as lab safety standards, conducting safety audits, and handling of hazardous materials (electrolytes, solvents),

Perform metrology testing and data capture such as pull tests, torque tests, and CT scans

Generate reports from collected data
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams
What You'll Bring-
Degree in Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience

1 to 2+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office a must, with advanced Excel skills, a plus

CAD familiarity with basic knowledge of SolidWorks, a plus

Database and data logging tool experience
- Strong attention to detail, such as documenting metrics and conducting in-process inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, and multimeters

Willingness to learn and apply advanced characterization techniques (e.g., microscopy, X-ray analysis)

Organized mindset, with good communication and analytical skills

Self-driven, independent problem-solver capable of working with minimal guidance

Physical requirements, such as lifting items up to 25 pounds, standing for long shifts, and dry room/PPE such as the capability to wear a respirator are required

Expected Compensation
$23.18 - $47.88/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
