A rush order arrives late Friday. Materials are tight, a key line is nearing capacity, and logistics windows are closing. You evaluate inventory, model alternatives, re-slot work orders, and coordinate with procurement to expedite critical components—keeping the promise without sacrificing efficiency.
- Create and steward production schedules that synchronize demand, inventory, and resources.
- Partner with production, procurement, and logistics to ensure plan feasibility.
- Continuously monitor progress; pivot the plan to absorb demand swings or capacity constraints.
- Mine data for patterns that inform smarter scheduling and higher throughput.
- Communicate changes and impacts clearly to all stakeholders.
- Leverage scheduling systems and Excel to maintain accurate, transparent plans and metrics.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and propose targeted, data-backed remedies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement to streamline planning and boost productivity.
- Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Background in manufacturing scheduling or production planning.
- Strong analytical horsepower and comfort with data-driven decisions.
- Skill with scheduling software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across functions.
- High attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability.
