Borr Drilling is looking for talented professionals with Jack-Up rig experience, permanent authorization to work in the United States, and an interest in national assignments to join our growing operations in U.S. waters.
To work under the direction of the Mechanic to assist with the maintenance and repair of the rig mechanical systems. The Motorman ensures all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed within the required timescale and in accordance with the maintenance management set out by the Mechanic and in compliance with Borr Drilling Policies and Procedures.
The Motorman ensures power generating and auxiliary-ancillary equipment is ready for use and assigned / started / stopped as per operational requirements. The Motorman also ensures that the mechanical department areas of responsibility are kept clean and tidy and some of the other rig equipment working smoothly.

Work with assigned assessor to complete Borr Competence Management System “BCAMS” and where necessary, identify any areas for development. Provide demonstrable evidence to complement the assessor outcomes

Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Mechanic

Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist

Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings; STOP program, weekly or special operations safety meetings and ensure any concerns or issues are reported appropriately

Ensure that entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment

Demonstrate a personal commitment to Borr Drilling’s QHSE Management System; ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), i.e. Risk Assessments etc.

Knowledge and utilization of Company’s Integrity Management System, responsible to ensure understanding and application of updates, changes and working instructions

Assist with all mechanical maintenance activities onboard the rig to ensure the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance is carried out in accordance with the Company Maintenance Management Plan

Ensure all lock-out-tag-out procedures are followed, trapped energy released, and all hazards and risks are identified prior to starting work on any mechanical equipment

Responsible for readiness, start / stop power generating and auxiliary-ancillary equipment and assignment as per operational requirements.

Responsible for daily and weekly checks of mechanical equipment onboard the rig as directed and report any damage or issues immediately to Supervisor.

Provide updates for the rig’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintenance & rig documentation records and logs, to ensure all actions are carried out and completed & logged in a timely manner and in accordance with Borr Drilling policies and procedures to minimize potential downtime

Maintain inventory or all parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the mechanical equipment and ensure need for replacements is kept to a minimum by maximum use of repair facilities available to reduce costs.

Assist Barge Engineer with the taking on of fluids onto the rig from/to support vessels and on rig transfer of fuel oils and lubricants/hydraulic/waste oils.

Maintain housekeeping and appearance in general areas of the rig: specifically, but not limited to Engine & Auxiliary Engine Rooms, Control Rooms, HVAC Rooms, HPU rooms, Mechanical Work Shops and Storage areas.

Assist Chief Mechanic in all emergency situations as directed by the operations manual, emergency response plan and the Station Bill.

Ensure clear and comprehensive handovers are communicated to relief personnel

Work towards developing mechanical skills that will allow the possible promotion to Mechanic.

Participate in company approved and recommended training as required by company Training Matrix requirements.

Perform other duties, complete additional tasks and support ad hoc projects as required

Vocational Mechanical Qualification or equivalent experience at Company’s discretion
