What to Expect
Tesla Gigafactory Texas is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Designer to join the Fire Protection team in Austin, TX. The Gigafactory Texas design team strives to create the factory of the future by overseeing the design of cutting-edge large-scale equipment and utility systems in support of highly innovating manufacturing processes.
What You'll Do-
Work with the Fire Protection Team to prepare designs, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and installation drawings

Manage multiple projects while meeting tight design deadlines and responding to RFIs to meet construction deadlines

Produce 3D construction drawings and 3D models for different types of fire suppression and life safety systems using Revit, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and Navisworks

Lead in-field design validation and preparation of as-built drawings and maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation

Develop Revit families, standard details, and manage BIM files

Ensure compliance with local building codes and fire regulations
What You'll Bring-
Minimum 4 years of fire sprinkler design experience

NICET certification for water-based fire protection systems layout

Proficiency in 3D software, such as Auto CAD, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Bluebeam

Experience with HydraCAD, HydraCALC, or other sprinkler design programs

Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14 and so on

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or RME-G licensed is preferred, or equivalent experience
