Facilitates and instructs a diverse population of students in classroom and laboratory settings across Manufacturing and Drafting disciplines; develops written syllabi, course outlines, and instructional materials for CNC machining, CAD drafting, GD&T, blueprint reading, and related coursework. Evaluates student learning, monitors academic progress, prepares and grades exams/assignments, and maintains safe, well-equipped manufacturing and drafting labs in accordance with OSHA standards. Performs basic maintenance on equipment or coordinates repairs for CNC machines, manual machines, measurement tools, and computer workstations.
Promotes the Manufacturing and Drafting programs and recruits students through outreach events, dual enrollment partnerships, advisory boards, and industry engagement. Supports, mentors, and educates faculty regarding curriculum updates, instructional methods, software changes, and program developments.
Maintains professional competence by remaining current with emerging trends in advanced manufacturing, multi-axis machining, CAD/CAM software, drafting standards, GD&T, and instructional best practices. Participates in professional development through conferences, courses, certifications, seminars, and workshops.
Maintains academic support hours to assist, mentor, and advise new, prospective, and continuing students on coursework, program pathways, internships, and career opportunities.
Participates in the academic life of the college by serving on campus and district committees, contributing to program review, supporting accreditation efforts, collaborating with industry advisory boards, and assisting with curriculum development and assessment.
