Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care and medical terminology, particularly in a hospital or pharmacy setting. The Cashier will ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and assist patients with their needs in a friendly and professional manner.
Duties
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and assisting with medication administration as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients regarding their prescriptions and services.
- Assist in the management of inventory, ensuring that all products are stocked and organized properly.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare staff to support acute care and critical care operations.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the cashier area, adhering to hospital policies.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring compliance with financial protocols.
Skills
- Strong understanding of patient care principles, particularly in acute and critical care environments.
- Familiarity with medication administration processes, including IV infusion techniques.
- Proficient in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating patience and empathy when interacting with patients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
