Job Description (M-F, 2:45-6:00 pm)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The preschool aftercare teacher is responsible to the Preschool Director for the safety of the students placed in her classroom. The preschool teacher will follow the afternoon schedule for the preschool children - nap time, snack time, recess time, etc. She must maintain an orderly, safe environment when working with the children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The preschool afterschool teacher must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The preschool teacher should be a spiritually discerning Christian who has a reputation that is blameless.
The preschool teacher should endeavor to be an example of Christ to her students.
The preschool teacher should be able to communicate effectively, work efficiently, and organize appropriately.
The preschool teacher must be able to deal with sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner.
The preschool teacher must have the ability to confront and deal appropriately with disciplinary issues involving students.
The preschool teacher must be able to follow a schedule.
The preschool teacher must be able to communicate school policy accurately to parents and students.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Provide the appropriate classroom environment through the use positive incentives and guiding phrases.
- Provide for the safety and well-being of the students by recognizing potential dangers and by giving very close personal supervision
- Guarantee the safety of students by never leaving the students unsupervised in the classroom or on the playground
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents
- Clean and maintain classroom
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or Elementary Principal
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
