This is not a hospital shift or chaotic urgent care.
As a District Nurse within HealthBar’s School Nursing Program, you’ll provide comprehensive, thoughtful nursing care to a defined student population — with predictable hours, autonomy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships in your school community.

This is a clinical role with balance built in.
You will:

Provide medical training and delegation for school staff (medication administration, chronic disease support, CPR/First Aid, MERT)

Support chronic disease management (allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, mental health)

Write and implement individualized plans of care

Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate Medical Emergency Response Teams (MERT)

Collaborate with school administration, teachers, PT/OT, speech, social work, CNAs, and fellow RNs
-
Participate in 504 and IEP meetings
You’ll also provide both routine and complex nursing care, including:

Medication administration

Assessing and treating illnesses and injuries

Specialized nursing care as needed (tracheostomy/ventilator support, G-tube feedings, catheter care, ostomies)

Public health education
-
Provider consultations
-
No hospital shift rotations
-
No 12-hour nights
-
No holiday coverage
-
No weekend requirements
-
No unpredictable overtime

Active, unrestricted Michigan RN license

BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) within 90 days of employment

Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, med-surg, ER, ICU, acute care, or public health preferred
The pay range for this role is:
55,000 - 60,000 USD per year(SNP- Lowell Area Schools)
