Duties
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and engaging conversation
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase mattress features, benefits, and comfort levels
- Assist customers with selecting the right mattress based on their preferences, budget, and sleep habits
- Upsell complementary products such as pillows, bedding, and sleep accessories to maximize customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking to create an inviting shopping environment
- Process transactions accurately using POS systems, handle cash and credit card payments with proper cash handling procedures
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or scheduling appointments
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in mattress or furniture store environments
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customers
- Ability to perform basic math for transactions, retail math for pricing, discounts, and inventory counts
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales strategies to enhance store presentation and sales performance
