About Lost Objects
Lost Objects is a boutique social media agency built from inside the film industry. Founded in 2023 by Kyra and Brendan Sweeney in West Hollywood, we work with cinematographers, production companies, grip and lighting houses, and creative brands who deserve to be seen for the craft they bring to set. What started as a side project has grown into one of the more respected names in social media management for the film industry, specifically for the people behind the camera.
Our work has helped clients reach millions of views, build massive followings, and land new job opportunities.
We offer audits, strategy sessions, content shoots, and full management for clients like Legacy Grip, Filmmakers Academy, Shane Hurlbut ASC, Blackout Lighting Console, Collective Camera Cranes, and more. We're a small team, and we're hiring for one specific role. Please read the full posting before applying. We need someone who already operates at this level, not someone who is still building toward it.
The Role
This is a part time, ongoing position supporting multiple clients. You'll be creating engaging content, writing captions that fit the brand voice, posting/managing accounts, running Notion based workflows, and communicating directly with our team and clients on a regular basis. This is not an entry level role, and it's not one where you'll be trained on the core tools. You need to already be fluent in everything below.
Please include a link to your portfolio directly in your resume or LinkedIn profile. Applications without a visible portfolio link will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Design graphics and carousel content in Canva at an advanced level, with a strong, consistent eye that fits high end, film industry brands.
- Use the Edits app when a project calls for it.
- Build and maintain Notion cards for each piece of content, including Canva links for approval and edits sent ahead of deadline.
- Manage day to day content across Instagram (our primary platform), YouTube, and TikTok, and stay current on platform trends and updates, especially on Instagram.
- Communicate through text, Google Spaces, and Slack depending on the client.
- Post on schedule and adjust quickly when a timeline shifts.
- Work independently once given direction. We'll set the expectations. We won't manage your process.
- Maintain a portfolio you can speak to in detail.
Requirements
- Extreme attention to detail. Typos, off brand tone, mismatched fonts, and sloppy exports aren't acceptable. You catch your own mistakes before we have to.
- An instinct for what actually works on social, not just what's trending broadly. You understand which trends land with a film industry audience and which ones read as out of touch if you don't know the space.
- Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in social media management and content creation. This is a firm minimum.
- Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, and Adobe Photoshop specifically. If you don't meet this on all three, please don't apply.
- A portfolio with specific accounts or campaigns you personally worked on.
- Self directed. You don't need reminders or hand holding, and you manage your time well, including around any other work.
- Strong written and verbal communication. You respond promptly and flag problems before they become problems.
- Comfortable working in Notion.
- Based in or working Pacific Time hours. Our clients need live communication during business hours. Los Angeles based is a plus, not a requirement.
- Able to commit to a consistent number of hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on the client.
- Familiarity with the film industry is a strong plus.
Not a Fit If
- You're building your first social media portfolio.
- You need training in Premiere Pro, Canva, or Photoshop.
- You're not comfortable with fast, direct, ongoing communication.
- You're looking for low touch, hands off freelance work. This role needs availability during the week.
