Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pantry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a keen interest in preparing high-quality meals. As a Pantry Cook, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all dietary standards are met. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry and kitchen areas.
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
- Support catering events as needed, ensuring all food items meet quality standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment operation.
- Experience working within a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with kitchen staff.
