PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Safely operate a company-provided Class A semi-truck on daily routes between Future Form Manufacturing’s Sparks, NV facilities and delivery destinations across Northern California, including the Sacramento area and the San Jose/South Bay area, with additional local delivery stops along the route. This position is primarily home-daily; however, rare overnight stays may be required due to extended drive times, weather conditions, or delays in product availability. Compensation is paid on an hourly basis.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Operate a company-provided Class A semi-truck safely on daily routes between Sparks, NV and Northern California destinations, including the Sacramento area and the San Jose/South Bay area, plus all required local delivery stops

Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy; report defects or maintenance needs promptly

Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) logs using Electronic Logging Device (ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations; manage drive time effectively given variable route lengths (Sacramento ~136 mi one way; San Jose ~255 mi one way)

Verify load accuracy, inspect cargo for damage, and ensure proper securement before departure; complete and submit all required delivery documentation

Adhere to all applicable federal, state (NV and CA), and local traffic laws, weight limits, and transportation regulations at all times

Communicate proactively with dispatcher and operations team regarding route status, delays, or issues; demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers and delivery contacts at all destinations

Keep assigned vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for service; report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses immediately per company policy

Be available for rare overnight stays when necessitated by extended drive time, adverse weather conditions, or delays in product availability; advance notice will be provided when possible

Participate actively and positively in Lean activities; assist other team members as required

Essential

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) – required

Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (current Medical Card)

Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience; clean MVR with no major violations in the past 3 years

Thorough knowledge of and compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and ELD requirements; ability to manage drive time on extended routes (up to ~255 miles one way to San Jose)

Ability to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Must pass pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing per company and federal policy

Strong time management and communication skills; ability to work independently, adapt to variable daily route assignments, and respond to occasional schedule changes including rare overnight stays

Must be at least 25 years of age

Familiarity with the Sparks, NV to Sacramento and San Jose/South Bay corridor and surrounding areas

Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or dedicated freight environment

Hazmat endorsement

Experience with flatbed, step-deck, or specialty freight relevant to sheet metal products

Forklift certification or experience assisting with loading/unloading

High school diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Maximum (minutes): Sit 336, Stand 48, Walk 24, Bend 24, Lift 24, Climb 14, Push/Pull 10.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids). Must be able to enter and exit a Class A semi-truck cab safely.
Working Environment: Primarily in-cab driving environment with regular outdoor exposure during loading, unloading, and inspections. Subject to varying weather and traffic conditions across the Sparks, NV to Sacramento and San Jose/South Bay corridor. Route length and destination vary by day. Position is primarily home-daily; rare overnight stays may occur due to drive time, weather, or product delays.
This position will require drug testing per company policy.
