Nursing Assistant Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including memory care, and hospice care. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience working with diverse patient populations.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Help with mobility by assisting patients in moving from beds to wheelchairs or other locations.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition.
- Support the administration of medications as directed by nursing staff.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in caregiving or home community care is a plus.
- Knowledge of memory care practices and hospice care is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks and training certifications.
- Must be a Certified Nurse Aide.
