Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistent presentation and flavor.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure proper storage.
- Use knife skills effectively, employing slicing techniques to prepare ingredients efficiently and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with safety standards in production.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control.
- Serve dishes promptly to ensure optimal temperature and presentation for guests or customers.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a food industry setting such as restaurants, Taverns/Pubs or Breweries is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to food safety regulations is essential.
- Hands-on experience with meal preparation, and serving in fast-paced kitchens or restaurant settings.
- Strong knife skills with slicing techniques that promote efficiency and safety during food prep.
- Experience managing food safety protocols and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
