Definition
Under general supervision, performs skilled groundskeeping work in planting, cultivating, and maintaining campus lawns, plants, and shrubs; prepares garden beds for planting and surfaces for laying sod; plants and maintains trees, grass, flowers, hedges, and shrubs using groundskeeping equipment; treats plant disease and pest problems; maintains and adjusts sprinkler systems; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Works under the direct supervision of the department supervisor and receives work direction from the Lead Groundskeeper.
Does not directly or indirectly supervise other employees but may provide work direction to temporary employees.
WORK SCHEDULE
40 Hours/Week, 12 Months/Year
Monday - Friday 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The Groundskeeper classification salary range is R -25.
Starting salary: Step 1 $4,341.21 to Step 3 $4,786.19 per month, based on training and experience.
Salary range: Step 1 $4,341.21 to Step 6 $5,540.61 per month (including longevity steps).
