We are seeking a part time Spanish Teacher for our Montessori school. This position is for the 2026/2027 school year which began on August 31, 2026 and runs until May 20, 2027. We follow the West Des Moines Schools calendar. This candidate will work approximately 7 hours a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The children range in ages between 3 to 7 years of age.
The Montessori Spanish Teacher is a guide who helps direct his/her students’ learning in a prepared Montessori environment, working to instill a desire for life-long learning and to develop respectful, responsible and self-reliant individuals.
Qualifications: The applicant should preferably possess a Bachelor's Degree in education. He/she should be a fluent Spanish speaker. If the degree is in another area, they should have a command over Spanish language, both written and spoken. S/he should be able to help young children understand the basic concepts and appropriately challenge those children who are ready for more advance work. S/he must have good classroom management skills. The applicant must have good communication skills and be able to establish a rapport with their students and parents.'
