Hi! And thanks for reading this job ad. Let me tell you a bit more about our business and the position.
What is this job?
This is a customer service position where you will be helping our walk-in patients, talking to patients on the phone, working in our mail room and helping to keep the pharmacy clean and organized.
Do I need any pharmacy experience?
Nope! We will teach you all you need to know to work in the pharmacy, you don't need experience in our industry, we are just looking for people who are interested in learning and care about details.
What is the advancement opportunity?
We will help you become a pharmacy technician and join our skilled team of techs!
While you are a clerk, we will get you licensed as a pharmacy technician, and when jobs come available in the pharmacy you can be promoted to work as a tech! Basically, we pay you to learn how to be a technician, which saves you lots of money and time from having to go to school to learn. Most clerks start working as technicians in our pharmacy within about 3-9 months.
This job is a great way to start a career as a pharmacy technician. If you have ever been curious about working in this industry or have wanted to change directions and try something new, this is a great opportunity for you. Much of our staff comes from service industry positions, such as baristas, restaurants, retail, grocery stores and similar and are looking a change, or an opportunity to begin a new career in pharmacy.
So you could go straight from being a clerk to being a pharmacy technician?
Yes! We do not require you to attend a school in order to be a tech, so going this route saves you $15k+ in tuition, plus you are paid while you are being trained. Success in this job depends on your interest in learning and growth.
This is a full time, 40 hour a week Monday through Friday position. The pharmacy is open weekdays from 9am to 7pm and is staffed from 7am-7:15pm, and we ask for open availability between these hours for your 8 hour shift. When you advance to a tech position your schedule will change, but remain within the 7am-7:15pm time frame. We try really hard to ensure your schedule is consistent and known far in advance.
What kind of benefits do you offer?
Our benefit package includes:
- A consistent schedule from week to week
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- 401(k)with employer match
- Generous paid flex time
- Discounts on prescriptions, over the counter items and supplements
How do you encourage a positive culture at your company?
We promote a culture of kindness and inclusivity, and respect individuality. We work to find ways to bring out the best in our staff, to recognize their efforts and strengths, and support their growth. We value positive, respectful communication and work to resolve issues and concerns as soon as they arise. Because we are relatively small and independently owned, there’s very little bureaucracy.
Our people are our most valuable asset! We care about your potential more than your experience. We look for people who are interested in working hard, learning new skills, doing a good job, who are passionate about helping people and doing things the right way. Going the extra mile and supporting your team is essential to all roles in the pharmacy.
