Duties
- Lead and execute strategic procurement initiatives that drive cost savings and strengthen supply chain resilience
- Negotiate high-value contracts and establish material cost standards that support company profitability
- Manage and optimize steel purchasing strategies, including pricing, contracts, and inventory alignment
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while monitoring performance through KPIs and scorecards
- Reduce inventory levels without disrupting production continuity
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and engineering to align sourcing with business goals
- Mentor and lead purchasing team members while presenting performance insights to senior leadership
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CPSM, CPM, or other professional certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Deep knowledge of steel pricing, commodity markets, and strategic sourcing
- Strong ERP and purchasing systems expertise
- Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings
- Exceptional negotiation and executive-level communication skills
- Ability to travel to vendor locations as needed
Work Environment
This role operates in both office and manufacturing environments. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required in production areas. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
