Position Overview:
Paul Quinn College (PQC) is an innovative, mission-driven HBCU located in Dallas, TX. Our dining program is central to student experience, built around cultural food traditions, community engagement, and a strong farm-to-table initiative, supported by our on-campus farm. We are seeking a Utility Worker (Kitchen Porter) for The Café.
Position Summary
The Utility team member is responsible for maintaining sanitation, dish operations, and overall kitchen cleanliness to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Maintain clean kitchen floors, drains, walls, and prep areas
- Remove trash and maintain waste disposal areas in compliance with standards
- Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing deliveries properly using the FIFO method
- Support cooks with prep tasks as directed
- Maintain organized storage and chemical safety areas
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Food Handler Certification Required or obtained before start date
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in high-volume operations
