Summary/Objective
In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Guests we serve, the
Staffing Coordinator ensures proper staffing is kept at all times in the facility to meet the needs
of the Guests while in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, budgetary and
census guidelines.
Essential Functions

1. Assures adequate number of staff are scheduled at all times to meet the Guest’s needs
as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
2. Assures monthly and daily staffing records are completed on time.
3. Secures coverage for vacancy shift, open positions, vacations and staff call-offs.
4. Maintains master schedule and log of all clinical staff schedule worked hours.
5. Assists the payroll coordinator with accuracy and verification of all hours worked by
nursing staff.
6. Records employee attendance and communicates with DON and ADON when issues
arise.
7. Assists the Administrator and other department heads with the daily operations of the
entire facility.
8. May be assigned temporary or long term assignments in various departments.
9. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply
issues to appropriate persons.
10. Assure that established infection control and prevention practices and standard
precautions are maintained at all times.
11. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
12. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests and interacts with them in an manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
13. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families,
peers and supervisors.
14. Ensure each Guest receives person centered care.
15. Answers and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest
care areas.
16. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
17. Recognize your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement
(QAPI) efforts of your organization.
18. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
19. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
20. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
21. Any noted opportunities for improvement will be shared with leadership in the
organization.
22. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or
detecting barriers preventing project success.
23. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude),
including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
24. Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
Two years of related experience.
