Job purpose
The Inserter Operator - 2nd Shift is responsible for operating, monitoring, and performing basic adjustments to production mailing equipment to accurately produce client mailings in accordance with job specifications, quality standards, production schedules, and Company procedures. This position ensures that all work is completed efficiently while maintaining product quality, workplace safety, and the confidentiality of client information.
Duties and responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and perform basic adjustments to assigned production mailing equipment in accordance with Company procedures and production specifications.

Read and interpret job tickets, production instructions, and sample pieces to ensure jobs are completed accurately and meet quality standards.

Verify production materials and monitor work throughout the production process to ensure accuracy, quality, and customer requirements are met.

Meet established production schedules and daily productivity expectations while maintaining quality standards.

Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, quality concerns, and production issues promptly to the Second Shift Production Supervisor.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all Company safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.

Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support production goals and ensure efficient workflow.

Protect confidential client information and comply with Company policies, information security requirements, and HIPAA Business Associate requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Second Shift Production Supervisor or General Manager of Production.
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing production environment while consistently demonstrating accuracy, quality, and attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, and multiple departments throughout the organization while contributing to a positive team environment. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, accept and provide constructive feedback, adapt to changing production priorities, and remain resilient in the face of changing workloads and deadlines.
Employees in this position work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, conveyors, forklifts, noise, and other conditions commonly associated with production operations. Employees are expected to follow all Company safety procedures, use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
This position requires continuous standing, frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday, as well as the flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules based on production and customer requirements.
This position also requires successful completion of required HIPAA, Information Security, Workplace Safety training and have a demonstrated understanding of the importance of protecting confidential client and Company information.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One to three months of manufacturing, production, mailing, or related experience preferred.

Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.

Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and measurements.

Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and perform minor adjustments to production equipment.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and communicate production or equipment concerns.

Good manual dexterity and visual acuity to safely operate equipment and inspect printed materials.
