Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic part-time instructors to join our team and inspire young learners through piano, guitar, or flute lessons after school. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage children in musical arts, develop their skills, and nurture a love for music in a vibrant educational setting. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a passion for teaching instrumental performance to students of diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate music lessons in piano, guitar, or flute tailored to each student’s skill level
- Develop customized lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development and creative arts instruction
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment
- Support students’ musical growth through performance preparation and practice techniques
- Collaborate with parents to communicate student progress and encourage continued interest in music
- Incorporate elements of choreography, dance instruction, or theater when relevant to enhance lessons
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure all equipment and instruments are properly cared for
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings
- Strong background in teaching music or performing arts, including instrumental performance (piano, guitar, flute)
- Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to youth learners
- Classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students effectively
- Experience teaching visual & performing arts, choreography, dance instruction or theater is a plus
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for different age groups and skill levels
