Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead the middle school volleyball program at Reed City Middle School for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a commitment to fostering student-athlete development, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on skill development and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions.
- Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to athletes.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, collaboration, and personal growth among student-athletes.
- Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding practice schedules, game details, and team expectations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions.
- Uphold and enforce school policies, rules, and regulations related to athletics.
- Attend all scheduled games and events, supporting the team and representing Reed City Middle School positively.
- Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the sport.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or higher, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
- A background check will be required prior to hiring.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
