General Duties and Responsibilities Daily
- Coordinate with the Traffic Coordinator to ensure cutoffs and daily shipment needs are met
- Review planning reports:
- Containers being pulled by Terminal (provided by Intermodal)
- Bookings to Turn In report
- Container Free Days report
- Upcoming Shipments report
- Rail reports
- Review forklift inspections
- Review production numbers and production reports
Weekly
- Verify and submit all bonuses
- Review rail mover inspections
- Conduct cycle counts and investigate any discrepancies
- Participate in Operations Management meetings to discuss Terminal projects and priorities
- Review Asset report
- Perform housekeeping audits of the Terminal and surrounding grounds
Monthly
- Review Terminal productivity numbers, RFIs, and aged inventory levels
Ongoing
- Manage maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse equipment (forklifts, stretch-wrap machines, dock plates, dock levelers, sweepers, dock bumpers, etc.)
- Facilitate coordination and communication between Packaging, Warehousing, Bulk Loading, Transport, and Customer Service departments
- Maintain a 3–5 day planning horizon
- Manage warehouse personnel hours and PTO
- Mitigate employee conflict and resolve inter-departmental communication issues
- Provide technical expertise to functional departments as needed
- Manage inventory locations to optimize warehouse space utilization
- Maintain warehouse utilization report
- Keep packaging supplies organized and visibly efficient, complying with FIFO inventory management
- Monitor warehouse labor productivity and plan hours according to volume needs
- Monitor and update, as needed, the following Google Drive docs: Packaging & Warehouse Shift Schedules, Terminal Project and Priorities, Operations Training
- Review, understand, audit against, and enforce all procedures and safety requirements applicable to each Terminal
- Document all safety incidents or near misses on the appropriate incident report; file with Safety and HR departments
- Document all necessary disciplinary action
- Assist with terminal projects, audits, and physical inventories
- Assist with training requirements provided by the Quality and Safety departments
- Perform supervisory duties
- Assist in other areas as needed
