Restaurant General Manager - Westwood, MA
The current GM is relocating after several successful years with the company, leaving behind a strong operation and a well-established team. They're looking for someone who can step in, earn the staff's trust, and keep building on what's already working.
The restaurant is an upscale casual, Italian-inspired neighborhood concept with a busy dining room, a strong cocktail business, and plenty of regulars. It's polished, but not stuffy. Guests come for dinner, drinks, and everything in between.
Compensation:
- Up to $110,000 base salary
- 20% performance bonus
- Total compensation up to $130,000
- Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
- 401(k) with company match
- Unlimited PTO
- Company-paid Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability insurance
- Employee ownership opportunity
- Dining discounts
- Referral program
- Relocation assistance available
The Role:
This isn't a role where you'll spend the day behind a desk.
Most of your time is spent in the restaurant. Talking with guests. Coaching managers. Helping the kitchen and dining room stay connected when things get busy. Catching the little things before they become bigger problems.
The operation is already in a good place. They aren't looking for someone to reinvent it. They're looking for someone who can lead people well, protect the culture that's been built, and continue developing the management team.
Training will happen primarily at the home restaurant, although you may spend a short time at another nearby location during the onboarding process.
One thing that's worth mentioning because you don't see it often anymore: eligible employees have the opportunity to become owners in the company. It's a big reason people stay. Leadership thinks long term, and they expect their managers to do the same.
Who Fits Here
This role makes sense for a General Manager, or a strong Assistant General Manager who's ready for the next step, with experience in upscale casual, polished casual, chef-driven, or other high-volume full-service restaurants.
You don't have to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to know how to build a team, coach managers without micromanaging them, and create an environment where people actually want to come to work.
Relocation candidates are absolutely encouraged to apply.
If you're looking for a stable company with real growth, strong leadership, and a restaurant that's already set up for success, we'd like to tell you more.
