A. BASIC FUNCTION:
Install and setup Pearson Packaging equipment (mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/PLC systems) to meet customer acceptance operational criteria; Provide training to both operators and maintenance personnel at customer facilities; Complete on-site system evaluations for the purpose of identifying root cause of issues preventing the system from meeting the customer’s expectations; Install Pearson Packaging Systems machine enhancements (upgrades) from blueprints and drawings; Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications; May be required to perform proactive work or technical support when not scheduled for customer visits (all proactive activities are to be logged into tracking systems). Ability to travel 100% and pass a fit for duty initial and annual testing.

Install and set up equipment (mechanical, electrical and PLC) and robotic systems to meet customer acceptance operational criteria.

Provide operator/maintenance training as well as formal machine training to all our customers when required. Training to meet Pearson’s satisfactory standards.

Complete on-site system audits/evaluations for the purpose of identifying root cause of issues preventing the system from meeting the customer’s expectations. Use an “Eye’s Wide Open” philosophy when at customer’s site, proactively review other on-site equipment and offer services and/or report back to Pearson Service Support Team with potential customer opportunities.

Install Packaging and Robotic Systems and machine enhancements/upgrades/retrofits from engineering drawings, which will include machines or fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units and then test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications

Document all on-site activities, findings and recommendations for customer review and approval prior to leaving the customer’s facility. This will include capturing any follow-up actions, recommended parts to be replaced and any quality issues that need to be reviewed internally by the operations team. Complete and turn in trip reports within 24 hours of leaving customer site.

Perform pro-active work, such as contacting customers to see how equipment is performing, follow up on previous service calls or provide technical support from home when not scheduled for customer visits and logging all of these activities into tracking systems.
Requirements:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Technical school graduate with a minimum of 10 years’ experience installing, training and repairing mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/PLC industrial machines and robotic systems specific to the packaging industry.
- Experience: Combined minimum of 5 years’ experience in fabrication, assembly, mechanical and controls/electrical work.

- Problem Solving and Independent Decision Making Abilities
- Strong Computer Skills (has experience with using Microsoft applications, email, SalesForce or other CRM’s)
- Ability to Read and Understand 2D and 3D drawings
- Capable of reading and interpreting PLC logic as it pertains to system functionality and capable of modifying the PLC logic to resolve issues, as required.
- Superior Customer Interaction and Customer Service Skills, Professional and Clear Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Proficient in Packaging Machinery Training
