Job Overview
Step by Step Learning and Development is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician to join our team. The RBT /BT will work directly with individuals with diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Educate clients and their families about behavioral strategies and techniques to promote skill development.
- Collect data on client progress and behavior, ensuring accurate medical records are maintained.
- Provide support in various settings, including home, school, and community environments.
- Collaborate with BCBAs to adjust treatment plans based on client needs and progress.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in special education and patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is not required but preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to educate clients and families effectively while demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
