2. Position Overview
Seeking a 13-week Contract Phlebotomist Technician to join our team.
- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Schedule: Thursday–Sunday
- Shift: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Shift Type: 10-hour nights
- Work Week: Sunday–Saturday
- Position: Local candidates only
- Location Requirement: Must live within 50 miles of the facility
3. Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection accurately.
- Respond to STAT specimen requests.
- Properly identify patients and label specimens.
- Enter test requests into the laboratory computer system.
- Process and accession specimens according to protocols.
- Transport specimens between departments as needed.
- Assist with specimen processing and laboratory operations.
- Perform blood collection at nursing homes, patient homes, and satellite facilities when needed.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and promote excellent service.
4. Requirements
- 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with Meditech and/or Mobilab required.
- Pediatric blood-drawing experience required.
- Experience collecting specimens from multiple age groups.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a laboratory team.
5. Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Phlebotomy training from an accredited program preferred.
6. Certifications
- Phlebotomy certification required.
7. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Meditech experience.
- Mobilab experience.
- Previous travel healthcare experience.
- Experience in hospital laboratory settings.
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection and processing procedures.
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Phlebotomy: 3 years (Required)
- Meditech and/or Mobilab: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Phlebotomy certification (Required)
