Position Overview
The Senior Holiday & Special Projects Designer is responsible for executing high-quality seasonal décor and specialty design projects through efficient, large-scale production while maintaining consistency with company design standards. This role requires a strong design eye, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This individual serves as a key support to the Lead Holiday Designer, helping maintain workflow and design consistency across both Holiday and Moss/Special projects. They play a critical role in ensuring consistency, quality, and timely completion of holiday, preserved, and moss products.
While this role requires prior hands-on design experience, the Senior Holiday & Special Projects Designer will be trained in company-specific guidelines, themes, and production methods. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled designer who can produce at a high volume, quickly learn and apply direction, and help coordinate projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Potential for Permanent Employment: This position is hired as a seasonal role; however, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on business needs, performance, and mutual interest.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Execute design and production of holiday décor at a high volume while maintaining quality and consistency
Assist in the coordination, production, and quality control of Moss & Special projects, including preserved moss, preserved ferns, faux greenery, and other specialty installations/projects
Help ensure all product meets company standards, established themes, and client expectations through consistent quality control
Build and refresh garlands, wreaths, trees, arrangements, and other seasonal or specialty product
Learn company design styles, themes, and guidelines and apply them accurately across all work
Support workflow planning and help uphold design standards across multiple project types
Contribute creative ideas while respecting established design direction
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace within the design warehouse
Participate in onsite installations of holiday décor, moss walls, preserved installs, and other specialty installations when needed
Follow production schedules and help ensure deadlines are met
Contribute positively to a collaborative, supportive team culture through clear and professional communication
Provide feedback for junior designers’ work and assist with quality control checking
Assist the Lead Holiday Designer with project coordination, material preparation, and workflow management for Holiday and Special Projects
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong design eye with prior experience in floral, holiday, or event décor
Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality
High attention to detail and commitment to craftmanship
Ability to take direction and quickly adapt to established design guidelines
Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Confident in assessing design quality and making thoughtful adjustments when needed

Working Conditions:
This position requires standing for long periods; bending, lifting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling; and handling medium to heavy physical work. Candidates must be able to lift 25 lbs and work safely on step stools and ladders. Candidates must be able to remember instructions, follow procedures, communicate clearly, and maintain focus on tasks amid a busy seasonal environment.
