Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized School Cook to join our team. The School Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our preschoolers, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines and food safety standards. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive mealtime experience that supports the health and well-being of our students.

Location: Creative Play Preschool
Position Type: Part-Time (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
Starting Pay: $14/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to the preschool’s menu and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all meals meet the needs of children with allergies or special dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food storage areas.
- Order, receive, and inventory food supplies, ensuring freshness and proper stock levels.
- Follow all food safety regulations and best practices, including proper storage, handling, and preparation techniques.
- Work collaboratively with preschool staff to create a welcoming and positive mealtime atmosphere for children.
- Assist with kitchen cleanup, including washing dishes and maintaining equipment.
- Adhere to budget constraints when ordering and preparing meals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations (Food Handler’s Certification preferred).
- Ability to plan and prepare meals for children, including those with dietary restrictions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor with a genuine love for working with children.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen equipment or supplies as needed.
