Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist – Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital
Full-Time | Dravosburg, PA

Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital is a busy, community-focused 1.5 DVM practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the pets and families we serve. As our hospital continues to grow, we’re looking for a friendly, motivated Veterinary Assistant who can also support our front desk team as a Receptionist.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
Admits and discharges patients.
Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.
Administering medications to patients as needed.
Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
Answer client phone calls
Schedule appointments as needed
Invoicing and accepting payments
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be able to multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in PA are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
