We produce concession packaging and are the world’s largest manufacturer of private label microwave popcorn packaging.
Ideal candidate will have a stable work history, strong mechanical background, and have the ability to trouble shoot equipment and problem solve. Candidate must also have strong attention to detail and be quality focused.
Description: This position requires you to Make-ready, run and maintain a flexographic printing press using various material substrates, safely, efficiently and with superior quality.
Responsibilities Include:
- Must develop a thorough understanding of the production workflow
- Oversee and direct the activities of the other members of the press crew
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues when necessary
- Troubleshoot print problems and takes appropriate corrective action
- Make Ready press, register, color, etc.
- Handle all aspects of press run
- Bring supplies to press when needed
- Maintain a clean work area
- Help wash up press units
- Identify defects on make ready and while running
- Make sure plates are cleaned and put away
- When any press room supply item is low tell the press room supervisor or manager
- Perform the necessary maintenance and lubrication of the machinery
- Following all safety, sanitation and quality procedures
- Any other appropriate work assignments as required
Education / Experience Required:
- Printing experience highly preferred
- Must be able to work overtime outside your schedule as needed
Skills / Abilities:
- Mechanical ability to make adjustments and use hand tools
- Ability to distinguish colors and make color matches
- Ability to read, write, and do basic math
- Ability to lift 50 pound or less
- The ability to consistently follow procedures and job instructions
- Ability to write, count and read material tags
- Ability to safely and effectively operate a printing press
- Operate a powered or un-powered pallet hand jack
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Work on a team
- Accuracy
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts
- 7AM-7PM or – 7PM-7AM
- Weekend availability
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 4 years (Preferred)
- Manufacturing: 4 years (Preferred)
