Duties
- Operate box trucks, vans, or other delivery vehicles for transporting goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload appliances and furniture using pallet jacks and other equipment as necessary.
- Follow assigned routes for timely deliveries while ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its contents.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on the road.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Home mover experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Experience with route driving and knowledge of local roadways is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining delivery records.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
