Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our maintenance and repair team at Rocky Hill Equipment, a leading equipment rental company. The Welder will be responsible for performing fabrication, repairs, and modifications on a wide variety of heavy construction and industrial rental equipment, ensuring all units meet safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding, brazing, cutting, and fabricating tasks on rental equipment including excavators, skid steers, generators, trailers, and more.
- Repair cracked or broken parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc, etc.).
- Fabricate brackets, guards, and supports for damaged or customized equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure welds and repairs comply with company safety standards and relevant codes.
- Inspect and test completed work to ensure proper function and durability.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe and operational condition.
- Work collaboratively with mechanics and technicians on equipment assessments and prioritization.
- Complete documentation and service reports as required.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; formal welding training or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of welding experience, ideally in a heavy equipment or rental equipment environment.
- Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Ability to operate grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools.
- Strong understanding of metals and fabrication materials.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various environments (shop and yard).
- Strong attention to detail, safety-focused, and reliable work ethic.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with construction equipment (e.g., forklifts, backhoes, aerial lifts).
- Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance software or digital work orders.
