Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be proficient in using power tools and have your own. This role involves working on diverse projects, including residential and commercial construction, renovations, and restoration work. The Carpenter will be responsible for executing tasks with precision and attention to detail while ensuring safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Construct, install, and repair structures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Perform frame carpentry for buildings, including walls, roofs, and floors.
- Apply plaster to walls and ceilings as needed.
- Conduct water damage restoration tasks to restore affected areas.
- Ensure all installations are plumb, level, and square.
- Install siding and other exterior finishes to enhance building aesthetics.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion within deadlines.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading to accurately follow project plans.
- Extensive experience as a carpenter with a solid understanding of construction principles.
- Knowledge of plaster application techniques for interior finishes.
- Skilled in operating various power tools safely and effectively.
- Expertise in frame carpentry techniques for structural integrity.
- Familiarity with water damage restoration processes and best practices.
- Ability to plumb structures accurately during installation processes.
- Experience in siding installation for residential or commercial properties.
- Strong ability to build structures according to specifications while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Competence in construction estimating to assess project costs effectively.
