Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Management Assistant (PMA) / Estimator to join our Commercial Construction Company Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support project planning, cost estimation, and contract management within a dynamic construction environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in construction estimating, project coordination, and site experience, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality drywall projects, demolition and new concrete.
Duties
- Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates using QuickBid, Onscreen and Bluebeam software, ensuring accuracy in pricing and cost control.
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to develop comprehensive bid proposals and negotiate terms effectively.
- Support project management activities including scheduling, tracking progress, and maintaining documentation related to contracts and change orders.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-site data, verify quantities, and assess project conditions for accurate estimating and planning.
- Assist in managing project budgets, monitor costs, and identify potential areas for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Support the review and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Utilize Bluebeam for plan review, markup, and collaboration with team members on project drawings and documents.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project workflows, cost control measures, and estimating accuracy.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction estimating or project coordination within commercial construction is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu software for plan review and markup is essential.
- Familiarity with QuickBid or similar estimating software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of negotiation techniques related to subcontractor agreements and procurement activities.
- Experience with cost control measures, pricing strategies, and project management principles in a construction setting.
- Construction site experience is advantageous for better understanding of field conditions impacting estimates and project execution. - Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with government, medical, lab, or renovation work- All retail and commercial construction from new to interior build outs
- Familiarity with submittal/RFI workflows and closeout requirements
- Experience with software such as: Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift/On-Screen Takeoff, Sage/Timberline, MS Project (or equivalents)
