Temporary Customer Service Representative
Location: Biddeford, ME
Pay: $21–$23/hour
Schedule:
- Monday & Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Assignment Length: 2–3 months
- Start Date: ASAP
Temporary Customer Service Opportunity
We're seeking friendly, professional Customer Service Representatives to support a high-volume customer service initiative. This temporary assignment is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and remains calm and professional when handling challenging conversations.
In this role, you'll assist customers by phone, email, and in person, answering questions related to billing updates and providing clear, accurate information based on established processes and training.
What You'll Do
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist walk-in customers with professionalism and empathy
- Respond to customer emails in a timely and accurate manner
- Explain billing information and account updates using provided training materials
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and provide clear, consistent information
- Escalate questions you cannot answer to the appropriate team member for follow-up
- Document customer interactions as needed
- Maintain a positive, patient, and solution-focused approach during high-volume periods
What We're Looking For
- Previous customer service experience (call center, office, municipal, banking, healthcare, or similar environments preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor
- Strong listening skills and the ability to de-escalate difficult conversations
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using email and basic computer applications
- Basic math skills and the ability to understand billing statements are a plus
- Ability to follow established procedures without guessing or providing inaccurate information
